The bounties of two distinct vineyards combine in this vintage of Oakley 82. Cline’s Oakley vineyards run along the shores of the San Joaquin and Sacramento Rivers, where warm days are cooled by the winds off the water. The vines root deep in the sand-soil and produce robust, intense fruit. Cline’s coastal vineyards run along the Sonoma Coast, where foggy mornings and sunny afternoons bring out the bright fruit flavors and deep color in the fruit. This vintage of Oakley 82 is 46% Oakley, 54% Sonoma Coast, and 100% delicious.
We start with handpicked grapes. Must is pumped to our temperature-controlled, stainless-steel tanks. The juice is inoculated with wine yeast selected for its hardiness and alcohol tolerance. Once the wine has extracted just the right amount of tannins, the grapes are pressed. Both free run and press juice combine to enhance the wine’s structure.
Bright but full-bodied, Oakley 82 Red combines jammy boysenberry with mild pepper flavors. Luscious fruit is complemented by smooth tannins that ensure the flavors will age well into the future.
This easy-drinking wine pairs well with BBQ ribs, hamburgers or pizza.
